General Information

What is the Growth Code?

The Growth Code is an 18-month program designed to accelerate the growth of scalable, Black-owned South African businesses through business development support and opportunities to apply for capital. It features expert-led sessions on strategy, people, systems, financial management, sales, and investment readiness, along with access-to-market boot camps.

Entrepreneurs interested in applying for The Growth Code must meet the following criteria:

  • Be 51%+ Black-owned and South African-registered SMEs.
  • Demonstrate a scalable business model offering innovative products or services.
  • Have a revenue turnover between R10 million and R50 million.
  • Be led by a founder or team with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Show a clear intention to access growth capital to scale operations.

A total of 40 businesses will be selected.

The Growth Code runs for 18 months, providing ongoing mentorship, coaching, and learning sessions to help businesses scale.

Application Process

How do I apply?

Applications can be submitted online through our official website. The process includes completing an application form and providing necessary business documents.

Applicants must submit:

  • Company registration documents (CIPC registration).
  • Proof of majority Black ownership – Share certificate.
  • Latest financial statements or management accounts.
  • Tax clearance certificate.
  • Company profile or pitch deck.

Businesses will be assessed based on:

  • Business Viability.
  • Growth potential and scalability.
  • Financial stability within the revenue threshold.
  • Industry relevance and ability to benefit from Growth Code.

No, the Growth Code is fully funded for selected participants.

The Growth Code Structure & Benefits

What topics will be covered in Growth Code?

Participants will receive mentorship and learning in key business areas, including:

  • Strategy: Business model refinement and competitive positioning.
  • People & Systems: Leadership, talent management, and operational efficiency.
  • Investment Readiness: Preparing for funding opportunities and investor engagement.
  • Financial Management: Cost control, pricing strategies, and cash flow optimization.
  • Sales & Access to Market: Business development, partnerships, and scaling revenue.

Each participant will receive advisory board coaching with industry experts, alongside peer learning opportunities and strategic advisory sessions.

Yes, participants will engage with investors, business leaders, and fellow entrepreneurs through structured networking events and pitch sessions.

Yes, participants are expected to be fully committed for the duration of Growth Code. Sessions will be scheduled in advance, and attendance is mandatory for all activities.

Additional Information

Can businesses from any industry apply?

Yes, businesses from various sectors are encouraged to apply, as long as they are scalable and meet the qualifying criteria.

Each company will have one primary participant, but additional team members may be invited to relevant sessions.

Successful applicants will be notified within 2-4 weeks after the application deadline.
